started her film career in Texas in 2009, where she produced and wrote several short films, two feature films, and a web series, primarily in the horror genre. In 2016, she ventured into directing with her debut film, "Imperceptible."
Having lost both her parents at a young age, Rachel's films often delve into themes of grief, trauma, and loneliness. Her films display a feminine perspective and merge surrealism with hyper-realism while containing elements of horror. Her visual language is influenced by her background in poetry and love for film studies. She has directed ten short films, including "3:14," shown at multiple festivals such as Emerging Filmmakers Project, Venice Shorts, and NY International Women's Fest. Recently, "The Crane Maiden/Friday Night Dinner" written by Jordyn Katz was chosen by New Filmmakers LA. "The Bonsai," her latest film, is about an agoraphobic hoarder caring for her verbally abusive mother and is set to hit the festival circuit soon.
Rachel, a Chapman University MFA in Film Directing graduate, holds a BA in Creative Writing and a minor in Film Studies from the University of Houston. She is based in Los Angeles.
